San Diego universities see increased enrollment this fall

Public four-year universities in San Diego County are seeing or expected to see increased enrollment this fall as students return to campuses, The San Diego Union-Tribune reported.

At San Diego State University, 37,087 students arrived this fall, about 900 more than a year ago. And Cal State San Marcos enrolled 16,008 students, up by 334 since last year.

Classes have yet to start at UC San Diego, but that campus is expecting to enroll 42,300 when students arrive later this month, which would be an increase of about 300 students compared with a year ago, the Union-Tribune reported.
