Milpitas Unified reaches out to parents for support in housing teachers

Milpitas Unified is asking parents to help house teachers as they struggle to keep teachers in the district because of the area’s high cost of living. The district has received at least 34 responses to the request after sending the request out to parents asking them to rent spare bedrooms through the school’s communication app, according to NBC.

The district is also working toward securing low-interest educator and city worker home loans as it aims to partner with local agencies.
