Both faculty leaders and members of the Board of Governors – the group that oversees the 114-campus system – said the process for creating an online college is rushed and expressed skepticism about the merits of a fully online college program.
Gov. Jerry Brown signed into law about 100 bills related to education or children's issues. Most came from the Assembly. Some 26 were vetoed based on an EdSource tally of the bills that made it to his desk this year.
The Legislature wants to maintain financial aid for UC and CSU students from families earning between $80,000 and $150,000 a year. But that conflicts with Gov. Jerry Brown's plan to phase out the program.
