The map below gives a broad indication of the kind of instruction offered by all or most public school districts in a particular county — whether via in-person or distance learning, or a mixture of the two — as of Oct. 30, 2020. It is based on information from county offices of education from Oct. 22-29, supplemented by EdSource research.
Note: The map does not include private, parochial or charter schools, or special education or other small group classes for students with special needs that districts are offering through the state’s “small cohort” guidance. “In-person instruction” refers to counties where most or all districts offer some form of in-person instruction in regular classes, or plan to offer such instruction in November, often in hybrid formats, to some or all grades, and to those students who wish to participate.
The system has enrolled more in-state residents, but not enough to meet targets set by the state.
Two prominent organizations say the proposal would dismantle progress made to improve reading instruction for those students.
Fresno City College professor Tom Boroujeni is unable to fulfill his duties as academic senate president while on leave, the latest update reads.
This is a continuing EdSource series on proven innovations in higher education that relate to the problems facing California’s higher education systems.

Do you have information on streaming? That is for the schools offering live in-person instruction, how many are streaming to kids who are at home for distance learning? Public charter and private high schools are doing this. Sequoia district is “mocking” it up? Others are considering it. Our district seems to be totally rejecting it.

Yuxuan – This map is great. Thank you! Will you plan to update the same map link as Counties change their distance learning/ in person plans?

We will attempt to update this information as best we can, although because the situation on the ground is changing rapidly, this will be challenging. We will shoot to do another survey in about a month. We are relying on readers like you to let us know if things change in your county

I understand that things are changing really quickly, but do you have any updated information regarding high schools conducting in-person instruction five days a week with full classes
